HANOVERTON — The United Local school has approved a contract for an athletic trainer this fall.
The board approved Mollie Newman as athletic trainer for the fall sports season at a $20 hourly rate plus a $500 insurance policy. She will be available for all home boys soccer, girls soccer, junior high football and junior varsity football games, as well as all home and away varsity football contests. She will be available for approximately 220 hours for a total cost of $4,900, including the insurance policy.
Newman will also be at the school from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays if there are no games. These times and days will be spent monitoring any athletes that need taped or rehabilitating any injuries.
In other business, the board accepted the resignation of Toni Beam as biology/anatomy/physiology teacher effective Aug. 19 and approved the transfers of Karesia Sisco from elementary intervention specialist (grades 2/3) to middle school intervention specialist teacher (grade 6), Katie Davidson from high school intervention specialist to career programming teacher and Ashley Buzzard from first grade teacher to intervention specialist.
Also at the meeting, the board approved a 2021-2022 supplemental contract to Noleen Moore as volunteer coordinator, as well as 2022-2023 athletic supplemental contracts to Stacey Zines for varsity girls golf, Edward Ridgeway as assistant athletic director, Sally Humphrey as assistant athletic director, Camryn Jarrett for assistant varsity volleyball, Savannah Burton for ninth grade volleyball, Noleen Moore for eighth grade volleyball, Lauren DelVicchio for seventh grade volleyball, Jake Kilroy for assistant varsity football, Jordan Phillips for assistant varsity football, Matt Brooks for assistant varsity football, Travis Ellyson for assistant varsity football, Jordan Wrask for assistant varsity football, Mike Ward for ninth grade football, Cade Wood for junior high football, Jon Newburn for junior high football, Tyler Dickens for assistant junior high football, Jeff Medure for assistant boys soccer, Nikki Blazer for assistant girls soccer, Megan Karmazin for assistant cross country, Angela Benner for ninth grade fall cheerleading and Brenna Wood for seventh and eighth grade fall cheer. The board also approved Rachel Amos as varsity girls soccer volunteer for 2022-2023.
